Brat'ya I Zhelenow: Part 3
10/10/11 by Sev667
Hey guys, im back from the summer and remembered Newgrounds. I also remember this story!
Alexei could see his breath in the cold air. He was departing from Minsk to Riga, a major city that controls the Baltic. He was going by train, with some loaded artillery and some friends. The Major was with him and inspected everyone on the way. Alexei's ripped gloves had let him get some minor frostbite on his hands, but he would warm that up by rubbing some gunpowder on his hands. The train had finally stopped and he got off. The situation was there were some broken tank near the border that was ambushed by German bombers last night. The division had to protect the engineers fixing the tank. Alexei grabbed his rifle and stormed out with his friends.
On his way, he saw many trees and ruins, some of houses from 3 to 300 years old. All was stopped when they reached the tanks. The troops surrounded the tanks, while the major talked to the engineers on how long it was going to take to fix. "About another 6 hours" said one engineer. One soldier, in front, looked back and grunted with disbelief. But then suddenly, he was shot in the head, and the engineers got down and coward. The soldiers, took their positions and aimed down their sights. Alexei saw that at least 30 km in front was a convoy of German soldiers from Riga. Alexei screamed to fire, but none of them could see it. The snow had made the Germans look invisible, with their white coats.
A sudden rocket was fired at one tank, destroying it. Alexei was scared, he could not tell who was who. He took one shot, and it hit snow. He took another, and it shot a person. Alexei was doomed, this fight could take hours, and they could never take Riga. Alexei finally noticed something, the soldiers had black boots! Alexei then screamed "Black Boots!" and the soldiers all saw. The Germans were doomed, being shot one by one. Once all of them were dead, the engineers got up and screamed in joy. Alexei grinned and got up from his position.
Alexei got to the major, and told him that Riga would be pretty easy to capture because he predicted that the division they just fought was most of the Riga division. The major believed him, and told the soldiers to loot the German weapons and march into town. Alexei was thankful, if he had never spotted out the boots, his whole division would be wiped out and the tanks would never be finished. Alexei then walked up to a dead German soldier, and instead of taking his guns and ammunition, he took his gloves.

Gah!!!
Alexei aimed down his iron sights, and took a deep breath. The panzer tanks, in their tan camouflage, were slowly riding up the broken cobblestone road. The sky was already black and the fascist's were arising. Alexei looked over to a window at the tank factory and saw the official. He waved his hand over at the tank ordering Alexei to shoot one of the MG gunners mounted on the tank. With the sleight of his hand, Alexei took the shot, and made direct impact at the MG's head. It was followed by much gun fire later on. First, the red army threw the Molotov cocktails at the tanks, slowing them down and weakening the invading Nazi's. Alexei took another shot, this time at a dying Nazi SMG trooper. He would have died anyway, so Alexei did not count that.
It was a fest. The invaders were regretting everything they thought, and were hoping to be spared, but none were by the hands and bullets of Alexei. Once they were all dead and no more tanks were saw in sight again, Alexei stood up, waved his hands. and alerted the official in the tank factory about the victory. Alexei made a smile on his face afterwards, and started looting the troopers for supplies against the Nazi's. The red army's plan was to keep advancing. Minsk was already secured, and more labor was introduced in Russia. It looked like operation Barbarossa was a complete failure at the end.
Once Alexei met up with the red army again in Kiev square, they discussed if they were any more left over Nazi bodies they could use. Kiev was clear by the end of the chat, and the soldiers were packing up to cross the forests to Czechoslovakia. About half of the country was Nazi occupied, and the red army only 43% chance of retaking all of it AND advancing to Nazi Germany itself. The official (later identified at Dmitri Grovanov) finnaly caught up with Alexei, and talked with him about how he was a great marksman, and could really use him in the dense forest.
Alexei packed his gas maks, his Mosin-Nagant, his lucky Ukrainian SSR jacket and an official red army uniform and helmet. His helmet was forest green with a red star on it, which is what Alexei wanted. Once they started to leave Kiev, Alexei had to think back to that just a couple days ago he was an innocent civilian hiding in a basement to now, a full trained USSR soldier ready to snipe some Nazi fascists. The job was not all easy, for Alexei would expect something he would never expect for years.
Life was easy when he got to the forest though, surprisingly, not much of which was forest. Either annexed towns or villages. Alexei was not expecting this, so he would not be as prepared as planned. He would try his best though, he thought to himself, that he would be part of the massive Soviet army and stop the fascists.
Happy-late Pico day! I hope everyone had a good time, but I thought of a new series yesterday. It will be during WWII, except on the European Theater of the war, as you can tell by the cover. I hope you enjoy!
November 17th, 1943
Alexei was a cold man. He grew up hunting bears with his father in Ukraine, which is his home country. He was always good with a bolt-action rifle. Hiding in the evergreen trees with his old Mosin-Nagant, while his father was scouting the area for bears. But those were only memories to Alexei. Now, he was hiding in his basement during the second battle of Kiev. He had no lights in his basement, and it was freezing cold. Alexei's father had died defending his house against the Germans yesterday, ever since, Alexei had to hide while the top of his house was slowly being destroyed.
Alexei heard a knock on his wooden basement door. It slowly creaked open, and the Germans had finally found his house. They forced him to put down his weapons (he had his old Mosin-Nagant on his back) and threatened him to tell where the near-by Soviet tank factory was. Alexei lifted his face up and responded "Please spare me, I do not know". The Germans did not accept no for an answer, and kicked Alexei in the face while his hands were tied up. One of the Germans found a Soviet citizen card on a stool next to a Soviet banner. "Alexei Zlatsi'ev, what kind a name is that" remarked the German colonel. "These Soviet scum come up with the weirdest names ever, I have not seen any worse than this though!"
Alexei had no hope now, as his Soviet citizen card was forever gone, so the Red army would never accept him, and the German Colonel was pulling his Walther P38 out. Just before the colonel could shoot Alexei, an explosion was blown through the door, and 3-4 Red army soldiers shot and killed the Germans with their PPSh's (Soviet sub-machine gun). The red army ran up to Alexei, and untied him. "What are you doing here, comrade" said one of the Soldiers. "Panzer reinforcements are coming from the west, and we are saving as much civilians as we much, possibly recruiting most of them. Tell me comrade, what is your name?". Alexei took his blue wool jacket with a Ukrainian SSR flag patched on it, and responded with "Alexei Zlatsi'ev".
One of the Red Army officials came up to Alexei and asked him for a Soviet citizen identification card. Alexei had no identification card, but pointed to his home-made soviet flag, saying that he was patriotic enough to join. The official laughed and said he could join. "We need marksman" said the Official "I see you have a Mosin-Nagant in the corner". They both had the right idea, and Alexei got his Nagant, and rushed off outside his house. A Red Army soldier came running in, reporting that he was a scout. "I saw 10-20 Panzer tanks with MG troopers loaded with them. Our reinforcements are never going to come in time" said the trooper with ash all over his body. "We have recruited more men in the meanwhile, scout comrade, about 5-9 more Soviet soldiers will be helping us". said the official.
"We need to defend the Tank factory, it is our only checkpoint left" mentioned red army soldier. The soldier pointed out the factory, which was only a few blocks away. "Alexei, you will stay here by the basement door and defend the tank factory by the side, we will try to re-capture, get ready!" said the official as he ran off with his soldiers to the factory. Alexei took a deep breath, and as he looked left, he saw the panzer tanks storming up the street. Alexei then took another deep breath, and aimed down his sights.
Fields of Glory: Epilogue

Back from vacation, and finishing another one of my stories!
July 3rd, 2004
Matt got out of the car and was welcomed by the tour guide. He brought him into the museum and started to have a chat with him while they were walking in the hallways. "Nice to have you here Mr. Johnston" said the tour guide "We are looking for WWII veterans for our new WWII exhibit next to your left. It is almost done, and will be released to the public tomorrow". "We would like you to help us approve of the historically correct information we have up there and give us some improvements". Matt made a grouch, lifted his cane and in a rotten voice he said "Okay". The tour guide was very perky from the beginning, having a blond afro and a pocket holder full of lucky pens. He also was slightly tall, and had a bright apple-red shirt on just for such an occasion. Matt on the other hand was losing himself. He wore a suit today, with all his medals and badges, and he also had a hat on that he never stopped wearing in the the public since the late 70's. He also had a cane for helping on his recent limp.
The tour guide, who's name was Jerry, un-hooked the red leather handle and welcomed Matt in the exhibit. On the walls were pictures of soldiers fighting in Germany and the Pacific islands, historic guns and uniforms used by soldiers. Matt was most into the pacific island part of the exhibit, but before he could tell Jerry more suggestions, he was distracted by his Tom Clancy book and slowly left the exhibit. Jerry then noticed Matt was leaving, and dragged him back to the exhibit. "Mr. Johnston, we really need your bias here" said Jerry in a concerned voice. "Here's what you have to do, close the exhibit and let my history be!" screamed Matt in a garbled voice and without a doubt, left the lobby, grumbling the way.
Before Matt left the whole entire Museum though, he stopped at the welcoming desk and noticed a picture, a peculiar picture. He picked up the picture, and noticed it was a picture of Matt, Mark, Luke and John all standing next to each other at Camp Jericho in front of a howitzer. Matt had a gasping face, and with the clamping of his dentures said "Where did you get this picture". "It was sold to us by a museum in Japan that was closing down, and we are still considering to hang it up on the exhibit or not, why?" said Jerry. Matt had so much potential in this picture and requested if he had the picture to himself.
"You certainly deserve more than us Mr. Johnston, does this picture mean anything to you at all?" said Jerry. "This is a picture of me and my closest friends in WWII. Their all dead now except for me, I'm on the left with no weapon". "Wow! such a story Mr. Johnston! thank you for sharing that! you can absolutely have it now!' said Jerry. Matt made a broken smile on his face, and shook hands with Jerry. "Pleasure doing business with you" said Jerry, and walked off while Matt walked to the front door. "Wait" said Matt before he walked out the door. "I want you to have this", and Matt held out his picture to Jerry. "I'm honored, but you should have it" said Jerry. "No, you have it. I want children to come in this building tomorrow and explore what history WWII has to offer. Do you mind if I come in tomorrow and chaperon?" said Matt
"We would love to!" said Jerry and handed a new name tag to Matt. "Museum opens at 9:00 tomorrow, be sure to come!" said Jerry, and walked off. Matt made another broken smile, and walked off to the doors, going for his car and reading his Tom Clancy book again on the way.
July 4th, 2004
Matt came in the doors, and was welcomed by Jerry again with a perky smile. "Hey kid" said Matt. "Where are the people?". "Their are exploring the first part of the museum, they should be coming by now though" said Jerry. Suddenly a group of people started walking in a hurry, surprising Matt. As soon as everyone came, everyone was dumbfounded. They were amazed by the section, the kids making gasping faces and guys surprised the most. Matt was the most happy the most. This time making a real smile with his cane and sunglasses, answering questions and feeling great about it. A couple children, about 3-4. came up to Matt, tugging his suit. They asked him where did the picture of him take place. "It took place a while ago, many years before you were born. That was at Camp Jericho, a historical camp now closed because environmental protection of the island. You can still visit it by plane from Hawaii now, but you'll get nothing out of it from you. For me, it will always be the fields of glory".
The kids were already gone halfway through the explanation, but Matt was still happy anyway letting it all out. Jerry came up to him and told him they made great profits off the exhibit. Jerry then gave Matt his paycheck (somewhere between $200-$300) and walked off. Matt was glad, and walked off as well back to his car, but had a thought in mind. He was going to visit the WWII memorial in D.C for a while. It was only a walk away, so he could get there before the fireworks. Once he got there, he was walking through the graves until he found Mark's, John's and Luke's grave all next to each other with little decorations. Matt bent down, devastating his back, but giving him an advantage in doing what he was going to do.
He picked out three little U.S flags from his coat pocket and placed them on the soil near there graves. He saluted each one of them, and left. Once he got to the car, he started the motor, and left the parking lot, while the fire works were starting. Matt was proud for once in his old life since the day America won WWII against Japan. He made a grin, and pulled up on a cliff where he could see the fireworks. He stretched out his legs, and started to read his Tom Clancy book again, slowly falling asleep.

It seems like the series is coming to a close. Once I finish this and the epilogue, I will finish 112 and then think of something new.
September 12th, 1944
Matt made a straight face and put his gun down. Just before he could pick it up again, the squad behind him got struck by mortar fire, and left them all dead in their trench. Matt started to run back and called for Mark while John was still shooting behind the destroyed tank. Matt eventually found Mark scrapped under some destroyed wood planks, to find the whole entire arms of Mark ripped off. "I was going to marry my fiance when I got back to the city after this war" said Mark with a slurred voice "But that's all history, like my life". "Remember me Matt, and tell my and fiance that I love her". Mark was still alive for the time after that, but was un-able to move. Matt then grabbed Mark and brought him to the near-by medical corps station. "We'll do the best we can do" said the Medic, and brought Mark inside the tent, and Matt ran back to the battlefield to join John. John was still pinned behind enemy forces, but said he could advance if he had more soldiers and a MG gunner. Matt still had a radio, and called the snipers for reinforcements. The snipers responded with "busy" and never called back.
Matt and John had to use there resources and tried to look for an MG. John eventually found one next to a destroyed palm tree, and set it up on top of the destroyed tank. With the MG, the battle went by a lot faster and more troops were able to get in once the Snipers could. Matt, supporting John with a M1 Garand, could eventually with John advance through the rest of the battlefield to the the Castle. Once they entered, they found it abandon, and full of ancient Japanese relics, like it was un-touched. John wandered inside to find a note written in Japanese. He could not understand it, but could tell it could be a warning note to leave the castle.
John put down the note and told everybody to run out of the castle. John was expecting a explosion once they all got out, but once everyone turned around, about three soldiers died by being shot in the back unexpectedly. Everyone got down, but were to confused because of the smoke thrown by the Japanese soldiers after the ambush. Matt lost John, and quickly looked for his radio. He found it and called for evac at the castle because of Japanese reinforcements. He called the Snipers, but had no respond, they were presumed dead later by Matt. Matt then tried to call the medical corps station, and finally found a response. "Hey bimbo, can you call a later time!? we got over 30 injured soldiers here and are trying our best!". Before Matt could talk back, they dropped his reception and Matt could not talk to them. Matt was just stuck there next to dying soldiers with bullets in their heads and John lost.
Matt had to become one of the soldiers defending the castle, and refused to die while one. Matt eventually got a call from the medical corps station calling for Matt to ready his troops for evac by truck, and the island to be bombed. Matt made a cross sign with his hands and put the radio down. He put his hands next to his mouth to simulate a megaphone and screamed that evac was coming. All the soldiers responded, and stacked up near Matt with his radio. Matt was then screaming for John, but no response came. The trucks then came and everyone ran for them. Matt eventually found John next to the castle wall with his Thompson next to him. He screamed to Matt, who was running in front of him. John grabbed his face, and told him that he got the trucks for him because he heard Matt get rejected by the medical corps for evac. Matt told him to follow him to the trucks for evac, but John refused and told him to leave him there next to the cracked limestone wall.
Matt made a surprised face, and slowly walked away from John, while John screaming to remember him for being a hero. Matt then got in the truck, and they made a mad dash away from the bullet fire that was shooting the truck. Matt held his gun while the truck was going and staring at John the meanwhile. John was eventually found by Japanese officers, and was shot in the head, killed; but, avenged by the bombers that struck afterwards. After the bombing party, Matt got out of the truck to check on Mark at the medical tent. Once he got there, he found a body bag, with the scribbled name "Mark" on it. Matt opened the body bag to actually find Mark's dead face, pale and Grey. Matt was then all alone, and 3 was now 1. Matt started to couch over Mark's body and did a cross over his body.
Matt was then welcomed by other troopers behind him to get back on the Battleship for a party. Matt got back up, and smiled at them. He followed them back to the PT boat, and got to the Battleship in no time. Everyone packed up behind him, and the battle was done for. Of course the battle will always be remembered by Matt by the day he lost his closest friends, but the day he also found his diary again shored up against the PT boat he lost in the lander.

Bart: "Hi Dr. Nick!" Dr. Nick "Hi everybody!"
September 12th, 1944
American PT boats had come to arisen to the shore, and the men had been woken up. Matt was first woken up by the general and was asked where the ammunition and supplies were. Matt had finally snapped to his senses by then and handed over 9 pillow cases worth of ammunition for the MG guns and rifles. The general saluted in his bravery, and handed him a new helmet while the others were just waking up. Mark still had a wet palm tree leaf from the other night, and peeled it off while chuckling. The general ran up to one of the scouts on the status report and said that the Japanese are rebuilding on the other side of the castle, but are lacking because of the disappearance of baker's ammunition. The general made a smirk and told everybody to move up, and remarked it an easy job.
Mark, carrying his BAR, set it on a balcony ruin and waited for the Japanese to come. Matt had a M1A1 carbine in his hand and John had a M1919 portable MG. On their trail was 3 jeeps and way back was a very supplied sniper team waiting for an ambush. Just when the first jeep was driving down the mud hill, a flare was heard and the jeep was destroyed. Matt yelled ambush and told everyone to fire at the Japanese troopers coming up the hill. Matt immediately got to cover behind a wall while the others did too, but some failed while running. Mark started shooting the BAR and counted at least 16 kills. John was spraying bullets all over the battlefield and seemed like he never ran out of ammo. John then had to finally screamed reloading (which took for ever) and everyone panicked. Matt was almost out of ammo and barely had 2 kills, and Mark still never gave up. The sniper team was trying their best and firing all over the place, but only got 5 kills. Just when the Japanese were having enough, one of the remaining limestone watch towers collapsed, killing 5 American troopers by surprise.
Matt, Mark and John had to run back to the beach like before, but as they were running back, they came across 6 American tanks coming up the hill loaded for revenge. On top of one of them was the General, screaming to Matt "Why are you running? Americans never lose!". Matt agreed (partially) and followed the tanks back to the battlefield, where the Japanese were rebuilding. Out of nowhere, the Japs were ambushed by tank shells. and never could come back. The Japanese had no other choice but retreated to the other side of the beach. It was by then that everyone would have been scattered because Japanese mortar fire had struck and destroyed half of the tanks. The general (having been on on of the three) fell to the ground and cried in pain for Matt. Matt came and looked for the general, only to find half of his arm ripped off because of the mortar explosion. He told Matt to lead his men for now on, and to take his dog tag to remember.
The general slowly died there without anybody noticing except Matt. Matt then got up to his feet, but before he could turn around, Japanese soldiers had surrounded him forcing him to say his last words. Just before Matt could get down he screamed "Sayonara Suckers!" and shanked them both with his knife, killing them both with one hit. Matt then ran up to a dead American body, and picked up a trench gun next to it. He got behind cover with John, and told him a status update. John said that the battle was still 50-50, making no difference in the last minutes. Matt told him to change it and forced him to run up there with him and a couple other troopers. "That's suicidal you dumb nut! who gave you permission to charge my ass!" screamed John "The generals bones!" replied Matt with his blood stained face.

Okay, im back, and hopefully, finishing...
September 11th, 1944
Matt was crawling through the grass like a snake. He had a knife in one hand, and a old springfield in the other. It was about 12 A.M, and Matt was supposed to meet out by the garden on the exteriors of Shuri Castle. Matt then came up across a guard leaning against a limestone path mark outside the garden. Matt stood up, and silently assassinated the guard without making any noise. He then put the guard down on the floor, and strangely, rigged it with bouncing bettys. Matt then ran steadily to the garden gate and met up with Mark and John. "I got the bodies ready to blow, you guys" whispered Matt "Same" said the other two. The three then silently walked to the center of the garden, and in a flash, got down and hit the ground. Luckily because of the grass camouflage suit, they were un-noticed and the guards slipped right passed them. Once they were gone, they all got back up and continued to crouch walk until they got to Japanese outpost baker. In baker, was an ammunition supply and radio that the three could use of their spec op mission. It was heavily guarded with hidden snipers, so they had to get to it somehow, which they already thought of.
Matt, Mark and John came across a good sniping hill where they could see baker. Matt was just waiting any moment for the betty's to blow up, which they did a couple minutes later. The explosion was huge and noticeable, and gave away the Japanese sniper's positions. Turned out that they were hiding on a hill next to Baker in grass suits like Matt. They began to crouch, and Matt, Mark and John began to shoot the springfields at them. At least 2 of them died because of one bullet collateral and the other three just died of single shot bullets by John or Mark. While all the guards were by the exploded bodies, Matt and his group began to walk up to baker, and crack the code for the safe door. John was the only one left with one satchel charge, but exploding it would alert all the guards. "We would just hold out like hell then" claimed Matt, and forced John to blow the door.
The explosion was more massive than the first one, and alerted everyone. Immediately, the three ran inside and started looting all the supplies and setting up a machine gun to keep off the guards. Once they had everything, the guards were just in time and came to the front of the outpost. Mark (the machine gunner) started to shoot like there was no tomorrow, while John and Matt got the back with sub-machine guns and rifles. They were getting beaten one by one, and they would not stop coming for them, like they were millions. John finally screamed out of ammo and everyone had to give up. Matt made a plan to run back to the beach with the looted supplies. Rain started to come in, and made things more difficult to plan. The three then rushed out the door with a horde of banzai soldiers behind them. The storm was wild, and wind was violent. Sometimes, palm tree leaves fell off and landed on the John's feet and tripped him, but kept running.
The banzai troopers then began to slow down and shoot the three down by sniping them. Because of their grass suits, they were unpredictable. Matt's grass suit had fallen off by now because of the wind, and left him with green scrubs. The three then got up to a cove where the snipers could not get them anymore. The three then got behind a rock and looked through the stash to find a phone. They found one, but was damaged with because of the rain. Mark was able to fix it up, while John and Matt got on the rain coats and their helmets. The speaker was in Japanese, and their was a Japanese code book in the bag full of loot. He looked up the code for bomb and found it. Mark said the coordinates for Shuri Castle and repeated "2204556" which meant preemptive strike. The Japanese radio man was confused, but took orders and sent the air force to bomb the castle. Just before Mark could end the communication, a wave came up to the three and flushed out the phone from Mark's hand.
The three agreed that scouts were going to come to find them but had to catch up on sleep. They all fell asleep eventually, but were eventually awoken later in the night at 3 A.M to find F-zeros rampage through the sky, destroying the castle and making a collateral explosion that could be seen from miles away. Matt then stood up and hand shaked his friends to a job well done. "Does this mean it's over?" said John "No, but we just have to make one more final push until we can all go home" said Matt, and they all went back to sleep.

Note: I REALLY want this series finished, so this might be rushed. I dont hate the series, I just really want to move on to something different now.
September 5th, 1944.
It was midnight, or at least 2:00 in the morning. A whole brigade of tanks were rolling down the steep mud hill, with all the palm trees, and other types of plants in there way. Luke was on the head tank, with binoculars. He was crouching, while the other 3 just sat on the side of the tank, trying to get some sleep. Luke did not want to sleep, he wanted Hadao dead. But then, Luke got a little tired. He started to put down his binoculars, and close his eyes. He did not have a single chance a sleeping, because some action was about to start. Suddenly, a sniper bullet, shot the front of the tank out of nowhere. It did not do anything, but did set off something. Luke picked up the bullet, and noticed some Japanese engravings on it. "RUN" Screamed Luke and he jumped off the tank before it got hit by grenade fire.
The explosion was the start of a bonfire. Luke grabbed his browning and started to get behind some sandbag cover. He constantly shot at the Japanese troopers, that were hiding in the pillbox next to the road to the beach. He could shoot them through the windows, that were in the pillbox. Mark then ran next to Luke with his BAR, and started to talk. "How are we going to get to the beach now!?" screamed Mark "Just keep fighting and stay alive". Mark did the exact same thing as Luke, but closed his eyes and screamed. He wasn't a good shot and shot nobody. Luke was ahead of the game by far, and Matt and John were doing the same thing, except near another sandbag cover. Luke then had enough of wasting bullets, and threw a grenade in the pillbox, destroying the turret, and everybody inside it.
Luke looked up, and noticed his success. He told every trooper it was safe, and started to walk down the hill. The hill was steep again, with many tree roots sticking out in the road, so some people started to tumble, but no one tripped. Luke then stopped, and raised his hand. This meant, for everyone to stop. He could hear some noises of leaves moving, and knew some enemy sniper was around. He looked around, and then, suddenly, an ally trooper got a shot in the head. Every trooper then got down on there body and put there hands over there head. Luke wanted no one stopping his path of destruction, so he quickly put his hand against a palm tree, and felt it move. He then looked up and saw some legs popping out. Luke made an angry face and shot the leg with a colt pistol. The sniper then fell to the ground, and begged Luke not to shoot him. But it was too late, the guy deserved to die.
Luke put his pistol back in his pocket, and told everybody to get up. Luke saw the beach in sight, and just before he could walk again, the brigade of tanks came back again, all fixed. Everybody cheered, except for Luke. He knew that they were gonna get destroyed again later at the beach. Luke pushed it aside, and started to run for the beach. It was a big beach, with many pillboxes, tanks, trenches, machine guns and soldiers on it, But they could take it. Luke told, before getting spotted, for all troopers to go to the west for some cover, and the tanks go straight for a distraction. Then, the battle plan began to unfold. The tanks quickly seized north, shooting everything in sight, and burning every close thing in sight (Tanks had flamethrowers in WW2). Luke's plan was that they would start a new battle on the west end of the field, while the tanks were on the end of the west end of the field, taking the busy Japanese soldiers by the minute, and by sunrise.
Luke's battle was pretty big, and the tanks helped a lot, for at least 10 minutes. Then, Luke noticed a HUGE flaw in his plan; he forget the east side. On the east side, were troopers. Hadao noticed Luke's plan, and decided to surprise attack the surprise attack. The hidden troopers then appeared from behind, and started to ambush the lines of tanks. They were gone in seconds. Now, Luke had two problems. The fact that all the tanks were gone and they had another row of soldiers to fight. His only back-up plan was simple: Fight harder. And they did. Luke and his men started to gain more passion after Luke's words, and gave all they got to the enemy. In at least a hour, they defeated them all, but took heavy casualties for themselves too. lost at least 20 men, but they lost 90. Ahead was a radio tower, with a pillbox. That was Hadao's hiding house. Luke started to charge for it, and Matthew tried to stop him, saying there was some kind of trap to it. Luke then would forever regret not listening to Matthew. As soon as he charged in there, Hadao kicked him out with a un-used bayonet spear. Matthew was on the ground, trying to get away, but Hadao wanted no mercy for him. Hadao then pulled out his Nambu, and shot Luke in the head.
John then ran over to him, and started to wrestle with Hadao. Hadao then smacked his face with his Nambu, and threaten him to end up like Luke. John started to cower, but just in time, The general appeared right behind Hadao, and punched him in the face. Hadao then got up and strangeled the general, But before the general could choke to death, John had picked up Luke's knife, and got near Hadao. He then stabbed him in the back multiple times, while the General fell over and started to heal. Then, Hadao was finished and fell down to the ground next to Luke. The general then got up, and saluted John for his bravery. John saluted back, and started to put his head down, and saw Luke's dead body. The general then put his head down.
"He was a courageous man. Daring, bold, strong. This man was Luke Pionski. He died of what he believed in; America. He died to take revenge on the evil Hadao man's idea. He wanted to be right, and out America to safety by his own force. You should all be proud of him". The General quoted. John and Matt were holding his corpse on a old American flag spreadsheet, while Mark was holding a torch at the other end. Every of the surviving troopers were near the end, saluting Luke. They then put the body down, and Mark lit the torch. Luke's body then started to burn. And everybody started to walk away. They wanted Luke's body cremated, so he could die with honor. John looked back while walking with everybody else, and was holding his dog tags. He started to crush them, and put them in his pocket. With Luke dead, now they had to advance to Shuri castle, without him. The group of 4, was now 3.

and it comes back...
The trenches were soggy, not from water, but from blood. Matthew had been ducking, but walking for cover in the trench. Matthew then sees John, and waves to him. Before John could get him out of the trench in time, a Japanese got behind him and put him in a headlock with a live grenade. Matthew quickly pushed the trooper out of the way, and threw the grenade out somewhere in the battlefield. Matthew then drags John back to the trench with the other troopers. Matthew examines him. He sees that the Japanese trooper, also while holding him hostage, slashed a knife in his back. John was panting, and covering the wound with his hand. "Take this Matt, and kill some bastards" John said. John handed him a old trench shotgun. Matthew grasped it, and saluted to John. Matthew then ran farther in the trench, while John stayed back with the other troopers.
Matthew tugged through the battlefield, killing every Japanese trooper in the trench, without them noticing. Matthew was sweating hard, because it was 79 degrees out, and mortar fire was everywhere. He then noticed at the end of the trench line, that every single Jap was dead in the field. Before Matthew could run back to John, a tank shell hit behind Matthew. Matthew was blasted away, but survived. He looked up above the trench, and saw a Japanese tank staring right at him. He quickly blinked and ran away. The tank fired again behind Matthew, again cheating death. Matthew did not want to look back, for he would have seen death if he would.
Matthew then found John, all the way back near a pillbox. He told John to get up, but he was too injured. He tried to stand up, but his wound was bigger then at least a grape fruit on his back. Another tank fire had shot next to the pillbox, and Matthew was screaming for John to run out of here. John then stood up, and started to run. Everyone made it out, except for the poor soldier without a nose. He was laying on the ground, with a satchel charge in his hands. Matthew told him to get up, but he just smiled at the guys, while a Tank was going to run him over. Matthew closed his eyes, and just when the tank was going to run over, the satchel charge exploded. Killing him and the tank.
Matthew then got back up, after the tank explosion. And noticed the soldier head. It was covered in blood, and detached from his body. Matthew then pulled off his dog tags, and put them in his pocket. He noticed John was starting to get better, and started to walk again after some bandages were put on his back. Matthew walked up to him, and winked. They then noticed both next to them was a whole brigade of tanks, American tanks. One head then popped out of the man whole, and it was Mark's head. Mark then smiled and got out. He was walking to them slowly, and then began to ran to Matt, crying in his shoulders, relieved that he was still alive. Mark patted him on the back, and started to lay his head down too.
Luke then appeared with a big browning machine gun attached on his back. He walked to John, and hand shaked him, while grinning. Luke's shiny blond buzz cut never looked better then today. Mark then told Matt that he had got this whole entire Tank team by himself, but also said that we had to keep moving to the end of the island. Luke then ran for the Tank side, and hopped on. Matt smiled, and walked to the other side with John. Now, they were heading for the beach of the island, which they knew had a big defense system, and had a important character in it. This character was known as General Tadao. General Tadao was known infamously to the Pacific Theatre troops for his agreement to the massacre of Parkstown. Parkstown was a humble American settlement in Hawaii, which was invaded by Japan, killing at least 67 civilians and 34 soldiers.
Tadao was a evil man, waiting to be killed. Luke knew he was chosen for this. Luke knew once he got to the beach, he would kill every Jap there, and murder Tadao, making him famous to all the pacific theater. But not with a little help from his friends.
